Our cadet team of Prithvi Menon, Adam Koszyk, Tor West – Ley and Bartoz Koszkz started the final day of the National Cadet League at the The Hindu Centre, Wellingborough in second place behind Archway and with a slender lead of 3 points over Luton A  - so all to play for.
They started off their day against Knighton Park with Prithvi and Adam remaining unbeaten and Bart winning 1 game.
Next up was Woodford Wells who were also dispatched, this time with Prithvi and Tor gaining maximum points and Adam securing 1 point.
The most crucial match of the day against Luton A who had strengthened their team since our last meeting with the addition of Violet-Lily Marquise, one of the top young players in the country. Prithiv’s game was very close with Violet finally securing the victory 16-14 in the 5th end. The match finished 3-3 with Prithvi, Adam and Tor all taking one game.
Our penultimate match of the day was against Notts 3 who we comfortably beat 5-1 with Prithvi and Adam again keeping clean sheets and Bart contributing a valuable 1 point.
The final match against the runaway leaders, Archway, proved a step too far; we could not match the previous weekend’s 3-3 draw and were beaten 6-0 despite some close encounters.

The overall result was a very well-earned silver medal– well done to all the players!!
