Two-Man Summer League: Week 5 Report

Westfield Summer League

Week 5: 6th June 2017

The Current Chumps brushed aside The Beaumont Boys with a 5-0 thrashing, with Both Richard Elliott and Andy Trott winning comfortably.

Current leaders Westfield Relics overcame a battling Howards Way side 4-1, with a noisy Matt Horrocks getting a first ever win over Rouman Stefanov to stave off the whitewash. Brian Wooding was unbeaten for Relics.

Last year’s runners up Westfield Wrens were on the wrong end of a defeat against Smooth Timbers 2-3. Though Dan Smalley and Nicole Bird both beat Jordan Wood, they were soundly beaten in straight ends by Steve Silk who combined well with Jordan to win the crucial doubles match.

70’s Revisited can consider themselves slightly fortunate to beat an ever improving C Challenge side 5-0, with four of the matches needing 4 or 5 ends to decide the winner. Alas 70’s were just too strong as they continue to climb the table.
